Privacy Policy
What we collect, why we collect it, who processes it, and the choices you have. Plain language, no dark patterns.
Effective June 18, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Predictive Planning Institute, Inc.(“Institute,” “we,” “us”), based in Denver, Colorado, handles personal information across predictiveplanning.com, the Certified Predictionist program, the member application and Terminal, our newsletter, and related services (the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to this Policy.
1. Information we collect
You give us directly
- Newsletter and lead capture: your email address, the source of the signup (for example, the Maturity Read or a field guide), and — for the Maturity Read — your responses and resulting maturity stage, which we use to segment what we send you.
- Contact form: your name, email address, and message.
- Account and certification: your name, email, password (stored hashed by our authentication provider), course progress, quiz and exam attempts (including timing and focus/blur events used to deter cheating), scenarios and plans you create, forum posts, and any certificate issued to you.
- Purchases: if you buy a paid offering, our payment processor handles your payment details; we receive confirmation and limited billing information, not full card numbers.
Collected automatically
- Technical data: IP address, browser and device information, and basic usage data needed to operate and secure the Service.
- Cookies: a session cookie to keep you signed in and a preference cookie that remembers your light/dark theme. We do not run third-party advertising trackers.
2. How we use information
- to provide the Service — accounts, courses, certification, the Terminal, and scenarios;
- to send the newsletter and content you requested, and to segment it by relevance;
- to respond to your messages and provide support;
- to process purchases and deliver what you bought;
- to secure the Service, prevent abuse, and enforce our Terms; and
- to comply with legal obligations.
We process your information where we have a lawful basis to do so, including your consent, performance of our agreement with you, and our legitimate interest in operating and improving the Service.
3. AI processing
Some features use third-party AI providers (Anthropic and OpenAI) to generate scenarios, assistant responses, and other outputs. When you use those features, the text you submit is sent to the provider to generate a response. We do not use your private content to train public models, and our providers process that data under their own enterprise terms. Avoid entering sensitive personal information into AI features.
4. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers that operate the Service on our behalf, under contracts that limit their use of it:
- Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage;
- Vercel — website hosting and delivery;
- Resend — transactional and newsletter email delivery;
- Anthropic and OpenAI — AI-assisted features;
- a payment processor for purchases; and
- Amazon, which sells and fulfills the book under its own privacy policy.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights or users’ safety, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
5. Data retention
We keep personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, then for a reasonable period to meet legal, accounting, or security obligations. You can ask us to delete your account and associated data at any time, subject to records we are required to keep.
6. Your choices and rights
- Email: every newsletter includes an unsubscribe link; transactional messages tied to your account may continue while it is active.
- Access, correction, deletion: you can request a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it.
- Region-specific rights: depending on where you live (for example, the EU/UK or California), you may have additional rights, including the right to object to or restrict certain processing and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them. We do not sell or “share” personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
To exercise any of these, email hello@predictiveplanning.com. We may need to verify your identity first.
7. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures — including encryption in transit, hashed passwords, and access controls — to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. International transfers
We operate in the United States, and our providers may process data there and elsewhere. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers.
9. Children
The Service is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
